I am a psychology graduate and a qualified mental health nurse. I have also recently completed a certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

I am the client co-ordinator at Aurora and carry out the initial consultation with the client. I understand that first visit can be daunting for the client and my hope would be to make each person feel welcomed, supported and fully involved in this process.

I will fully listen to the client and take into account their hopes and needs when matching them with a therapist at Aurora.

Background:
I worked in the field of finance and teaching before I decided to become a holistic therapist.

Qualifications:
I am qualified in a range of healing treatments such as reflexology, energy healing (Subtle Energy Medicine) and Indian Head Massage.

Experience:
I am a skilled and experienced therapist. I have been working for the past 15 years from a number of organisations as a trained holistic therapist.ive also been delivering a wide range of programmes in the community for the past 5 years.

What I hope to offer clients:
My treatments are designed to enhance healing on a deeper level, promote mental, emotional and physical well-being, bring a better balance, harmony, and equilibrium into your life, and to improve natural sleep patterns.

Background:
My background is in Mental Health and Support in various organisations like Nexus, WAVE,HURT,Contact Youth.

Qualifications:
DipHe Integrative counselling. Qualified in EMDR Part 1 and 2. Practitioners Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Experience:
My background is in mental health and support working for ten years as a Support Worker in Hostels for the Homeless . I have Five years counselling experience working with bereavement, bi-polar, borderline personality disorder, domestic violence, trauma,post-traumatic stress,sexuality issues, abuse, relationships, depression, anxiety, anger/aggression, low self esteem/confidence, coping difficulties, stress, self-harm, and suicidal ideation.

What I hope to offer clients:
I work from a client led approach that is non-judgemental and collaborative and I use an integrated approach to counselling, incorporating person-centred, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioural modalities that allows for therapy to be adaptive to the client's needs.

Background:
I worked in the mental health field for 14 years before choosing a career in counselling.

Qualifications:
I hold a Diploma of higher education in counselling. I have a post grad module in working with relationships obtained from Dublin City University. I have a certificate in Cognitive Therapy Methods. I hold an OCN Accredited Training which enables me to work therapeutically with Children and Adolescents.

Experience:
I have 7 years working as a counsellor/Psychotherapist with Children, Adolescents and Adults.

What I hope to offer clients:
An open and safe space to explore life's issues.

Background:
I have a BS Hons Degree in Housing Studies.

Qualifications:
Over the years I have acquired various qualifications in the field of counselling including a Diploma in Addiction Studies, Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling and an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Therapy. In 2014 i completed training in Eye movement desensitisation ...EMDR.

Experience:
I have 16 years experience working for a number of organisations throughout Northern Ireland in various roles from working directly as a counsellor to being a team leader within a pool of counsellors. I was employed for 6 years as a sexual abuse counsellor for NEXUS. I have a wide range of skills working with trauma and post traumatic stress disorder. I have also facilitated training in the area of sexual abuse, PTSD, drugs and alcohol misuse to schools, communities, social work students and other professionals such as CPN's and trainee counsellors.

What I hope to offer clients:
My approach in working with clients is to offer a safe trusting space where they can explore issues in their lives that have been problematic to them and their subsequent well being. In working with clients i operate at a humanistic integrative level where i firstly focus on the client and secondarily on the problem or issue. This represents to the client that they are central in the process of their own healing. I work at a level of non-judgemental positive regard with my clients whilst maintaining ethical boundaries at all times.

Background:
Before I qualified as a Holistic Therapist I worked in retail.

Qualifications:
I am qualified in Swedish and aromatherapy Body Massage, Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage, Indian Head Massage, Hot Stone Therapy, Reflexology, Baby Reflex and baby massage instructor.

Experience:
I have been working in the field of mental health for the past 10 yrs an area of work I feel very passionate about . Attending regular training and continued professional development to improve my practice. I successfully run a private practice offering a full range of therapies to the general public.

What I hope to offer clients:
I hope to offer client complementary therapies as a means to restoring the body's natural equilibrium and balance , in a safe secure and relaxing environment . To support clients to take time out to rest, relax and heal the body mind and spirit through genuine care and understanding.

Background:
My background is working within the mental health and educational needs while I was living in Manchester.

Qualifications:
I have a BA in counselling skills and Addiction Studies. I am a RELATE trained couples counsellor. I am also accredited with Irish Association of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I am currently researching for a PhD in reproductive trauma.

Experience:
I am trained and have experience working within the fields of addiction, cancer,SFBT,MI,CBT, adult survivor of sexual abuse, domestic violence, relationship issues, transition and change. I am currently researching for a PhD in reproductive trauma.

What I hope to offer clients:
To work in a safe, creative, supportive and sometimes direct manner to assist you on your journey.

Background:
I come from a teaching background and fulfilled my lifelong dream when I completed my Diploma in Higher Education in Counselling in 2007. Since then I have worked with Adults, Young People and Children.

Qualifications:
I have aDipEd; DipHE in Counselling. Lifespan Integration Adv working therapeutically with children and adolescents .

Experience:
I use my training in Lifespan Integration Therapy to promote rapid healing at a deeper level in adults and young people who have experienced trauma and neglect, whether recent or from past childhood experience. I am trained to work therapeutically with children and young people. Prior to this I have 8 years experience as a volunteer helping parents, teenagers and children.

What I hope to offer clients:
My hope is to facilitate you to experience the essence of who truly are with respect and genuineness whatever the issue. I will endeavour to accompany you on your personal journey towards healing integration and wholeness.

Background:
Ive 20 years counselling experience working within different counselling fields like nexus, family planning and rape crisis centre.

Qualifications:
Diploma in Integrative Humanistic Studies, Post Grad in Gasalt Therapy, Post Grad in CBT, Reiki Master, Integrative Energy Therapy.

Experience:
I have 20 years as a counsellor I have worked in different organisations Nexus being 1 for 10 years as a rape and sexual abuse counsellor. Ive worked for 18 years in family planning as an unplanned pregnancy counsellor. Ive worked for 15 years at the Donegal Rape Crisis Centre.

What I hope to offer clients:
To bring myself my experience and knowledge into the room and to provide a safe creative supportive space for my clients to help them explore and heal their arising issues.

Background:
I have been practicing as a CBT Therapist since gaining my post grad Diploma in CBT.

Qualifications:
Degree and Masters in Psychology and Philosophy from Oxford University, Psychotherapist. I have a Graduate Diploma in CBT.

Experience:
Ive worked in both the private and public sector through Aurora and a local GP practice. Ive also facilitated small group work through community organisations and taught an introduction to CBT skills course through NW Technical college for the past 2 years.

What I hope to offer clients:
My aim is to help equip clients with the skills they need in order to challenge unhelpful patters of thought and behaviour in order to improve their mood and maintain good mental health.

Background:
I previously worked in the engineering field and have an ONC and HNC in engineering. In 2006 i started my career journey in counselling and have since graduated with a diploma in counselling in 2009.

Qualifications:
I have an OCR and Dip HE in counselling. I am trained to work children and Young people through creative play. I am also a qualified Relax Kids Coach. I am trained to facilitate Meditation.I am also a Reiki Master and Practitioner

Experience:
I have a wealth of experience working with families and children across the Community, Voluntary, Educational, Health Board and Public Sector.

What I hope to offer clients:
My approach to facilitating classes/ workshops and one to one counselling is a person centred approach, showing empathic understanding and a non-judgemental approach which enables the client to develop a sense of the self. She is dedicated to her own CPD and believes this is a lifetime journey-commitment allowing her to share her knowledge, experiences and enthusiasm with others.

Background:
I have been involved in caring professions for over 30 years, having worked in Africa and Ireland.

Qualifications:
M.Sc in Guidance & Counselling from the University of Ulster 1999. Diploma in Psychotherapy from Dublin Counselling and Therapy Centre 2002. Diploma in Supervision from Dublin Counselling and Therapy Centre 2008. Level 1 training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for trauma. Currently training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples.

Experience:
Has been working in psychotherapy in and around Derry for over 15 years and as a supervisor for 7 years. With two colleagues he has set up and maintains a private practice at Breath of Hope Psychotherapy in Derry city. The variety of issues and cases coming into private practice has created a broad range of experience.
